Front page puppy For the Love of Strays makes the largest impact possible on the overpopulation of strays around us thanks to our group of volunteers, foster parents, and donations. We may be small but we are mighty. All of our volunteers and fosters open their hearts and homes to help those in need without question. We bandage the wounds, we scoop the poop, we bottle feed the babies and we help these dogs come out of their shells and trust again.

We need your help. Whether it is a donation, volunteering your time, or taking a dog into your home until a forever home can be found. It takes a community to make a difference.

Prior to placing a dog into a foster home or immediately after being found, all dogs are:

  • Provided a veterinary checkup;
  • Vaccinated with parvo/distemper, rabies and bordetella shots;
  • Provided fecal exams;
  • De-wormed;
  • Treated for fleas and ticks;
  • Tested for heart-worms and treated, if necessary.

During a foster stay, dogs will receive the following and/or other treatments as needed:

  • Spayed/neutered;
  • Micro-chipped.

Please contact us for more information about fostering one of our homeless dogs. We would love the opportunity to answer any of your questions.

And your donation would be greatly appreciated! You can donate through PayPal by clicking the link below. You can also mail us a check with your donation. Thanks for visiting our site.

For the Love of Strays is an all foster-based organization; our sole purpose is to help rescue stray and abandoned dogs and puppies. These animals are placed in a safe and loving foster home while FTLOS provides all veterinarian care and love necessary to restore them to health.

Behavior issues are addressed prior adoption placement with free follow-up trainingand advice available. Feral and aggressive animals are rehabilited prior to adoption.

Our goal is to place these animals in a lifetime safe and loving home. All animals adopted from our organization are required to be surrendered back into our care in the event that the adoption does not work out.

In an effort to reduce the number of unwanted puppies, we will spay and neuter all age-appropriate animals prior to adoption. We require a spay/neuter contract at the time of adoption, for all younger animals we enforce a spay/neuter follow up compliance policy.

Exciting news!
